Easy to use and High security
Thecus 2000 is an ideal Networked Storage Appliance for either Home or SOHO use. It is very easy to install on your existing network. It is far more practical than adding more drives to your PC or server or installing a whole new server! With the Thecus2000 you can easily add hundreds of giga-bytes in a few minutes! Since it is connected to the LAN and not to a PC, you no longer have to keep a PC on for 24 hours a day for others to access the data. Thecus 2000 is more reliable than a PC because it is running a dedicated OS focusing on storage and file services. For the highest security for your valuable data you can set up the Thecus 2000 as a RAID 1 (both HDDs will contain the same data). If one of the HDDs crashes, all your data are safely filed on the other drive. Just replace the crashed HDD with a new one and you are good to go. There is NO DOWNTIME even if one of the drives crashes!

Thecus 2000 transports data over a giga-bit Ethernet network, which is ten times faster than a regular Fast Ethernet (10/100MBps) connection. Thecus 2000 is optimized for multimedia content, so it is perfect for your movies, music files and digital pictures. You can use the Thecus 2000 as your primary storage device or as a backup device. Either way, it will provide the fastest and most reliable storage device. For highest data security it is even possible to replicate the data onto another Thecus 2000 by inserting one of the bays (only in a RAID 1 configuration) into another Thecus 2000. So, even if there is a natural disaster in your office, your data can be secured at home.
Multiple OS and Language support
A Thecus 2000 enables multiple users to access the content of the shared data simultaneously. For example, a movie file at Thecus 2000 is viewed by several Windows users concurrently. Even more, the data consolidation feature allows a file to be shared by different OS users (Windows, Apple, UNIX/Linux). For example, a MP3 file, ripped by an Apple user and filed in Thecus 2000, can be played by Apple, Windows and UNIX/Linux users at the same time. In addition, Unicode-base file naming is supported for users to name a file in a multi-lingual format.
